1. What's in a Patch?

A patch is a small setup program that updates an existing version of PM-Post to a new version

Note that a patch generally introduces no new functionality as it is purely a distribution mechanism for bug fixes


2. What are Code Bases?

PM-Post 4.501 utilises a versioning scheme to identify the code base used for a particular build. The code base can be found on the About page.

The code base number is in the form xxxx yy . Where: -

xxx = Major version number

yy = Patch revision number

In the following screen shot of the About page you can see a code base number of 055601. This represents a major number of 0556 and a patch revision number of 01.
